Over the decades since Keeneland's inaugural meet, the racecourse has attracted the elite of the racing world, moguls of the business world, movie stars and royalty. Drawn to its postcard pretty Central Kentucky setting - an elegant atmosphere - horse enthusiasts come to admire beautiful horses and the people who follow them. For some it's simply an afternoon of entertainment, for others a way of life; a devotion to the horse and to a tradition of racing that spans generation. This classic Blue Grass course was built not by kings but by extraordinary men and women whose ability to dream big made Keeneland more than just another race track. The traditions of Thoroughbred racing and breeding in Kentucky have been hundreds of years in the making and several men's unique vision have contributed and shaped Keeneland's legacy.
