WINX BREAKS TWO RACING RECORDS (2018 George Ryder Stakes & 2018 Queen Elizabeth Stakes - Entire Televised Broadcasts)
WINX is a racing legend. Since winning at her debut over 1100m at Warwick Farm on June 4, 2014, the Chris Waller-trained six-year-old mare has rewritten the record books over her next four years of racing.
With a staggering 29 wins and three runner-up finishes from 35 starts, WINX is the highest prize money earner in Australian racing history, having amassed nearly $19 million (AUD).
The STREET CRY mare now holds the world record for most Group 1 wins in flat races with 18, having surpassed champion US galloper JOHN HENRY's previous record of 16 when winning her third George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill on March 24th. In addition to that, WINX extended her winning sequence to 25 after winning the 2018 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick on April 14th equaling BLACK CAVIAR's winning streak.
WINX has been twice awarded the title of Australia's Champion Racehorse and was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame last year, only the third horse after SUNLINE and BLACK CAVIAR to receive that honor while still racing.
Her record over the past four years lists multiple victories in some of Australia’s greatest races, including:
- Equaling KINGSTON TOWN's achievement of three successive wins in the W.S. Cox Plate at Moonee Valley
- Three successive wins in the Chipping Norton Stakes over 1600m and George Ryder Stakes over 1500m during Sydney's autumn carnival
- One of only nine horses to have completed the Epsom Handicap and Doncaster Handicap double in the one season
Watch the entire televised broadcasts of both the 2018 George Ryder Stakes and the 2018 Queen Elizabeth Stakes for WINX's autumn finale, in addition to several lengthy segments showing her train and also interviews with her connections leading up to these races.
