BLACK CAVIAR: THE STORY SO FAR...
In February of 2008, trainer Peter Moody was intrigued by the physical presence and pedigree of a near-black yearling filly by the sire BEL ESPRIT and plunked down $210,000 for her at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale for the group and a syndicate was formed - that filly was BLACK CAVIAR.
This up-close-and-personal feature acquaints the viewer with the human connections of BLACK CAVIAR (her large group of owners and engaging trainer, Peter Moody) and looks back at BLACK CAVIAR from a yearling all the way to age 5 being unbeaten in 16 starts.
Extensive intimate and candid dialogue with Peter Moody at his barn shows BLACK CAVIAR on a typical day at his stable; also footage of her as a yearling at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale in addition to going through aquatic therapy on her down time to keep her in prime physical condition.
Each of her 16 races (at the time of this documentary) are shown briefly in chronological order with comments and narrative from her trainer Peter Moody.
